By Air : Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan Airport is Nepal’s only international airport.
Few direct flights to Nepal.
Travellers from Australia, Europe and North America have to change airline en route.
Departure tax for international flights is US$10 whilst flights to Indian subcontinent is US$7.
By Road : Buses are generally the easiest and quickest form of transport between Nepal and India.
Three main crossing points : : Sunauli-Bhairawa, Birganj-Raxaul Bazaar and Kakarbhitta-Siliguri.
Crossing between Nepal and Tibet via Kodari is open to organised groups but not to individual travellers heading north. Landslides regularly make it impassable during the monsoon
