Flag of Nepal
Economic Environment : Among the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with more than half of its population living below the poverty line. The government has been moving forward with economic reforms that encourage trade and foreign investment. Considerable scope for accelerating economic growth by exploiting its potential in hydropower and tourism. :
Industries : One of the least developed countries, majority of labour force employed in farming and livestock raising. Wood and metal handicrafts are important. Tourism is the chief source of foreign income.
Infrastructure : Isolated from most of the world’s land, air and sea transport routes. Cargo handling facilities are limited and airport is outdated. Severely constrained surface transport. Poor internal road system. Telecommunications links still under-developed, except in the capital city
